The Bay

The Bay, the area in which we live, work and play, known as the Bay of Gibraltar to the British and the Bahia de Algeciras to the Spanish, but by by whichever name we wish to call it, it is a very unique area in terms of its history and diversity of scenery.

From Gibraltar on its eastern side to Algeciras on its western side and inland to Castelar, it has been populated and called home by several civilisations over thousands of years. From the Romans to the Vandals, the Moors and the Spanish, it has seen disputes, skirmishes and wars, and all the residents of the past and present have left thier mark upon the landscape - although we have to admit they are not all pretty - we still feel proud and privalaged to call it home.

We are a very diverse community within the bay with many different cultures and views, but for the most part we live in a contented harmony with each other, and so we should. We all share a very unique part of the world and we should feel proud to live here. For our part at Bay FM we intend to strive hard to bring our communities even closer together under the umbrella of a combination of commercial and community radio. We will do our part to get information and entertainment out to you, but we hope to rely on you, the population of the bay and campo to feed us with information. So that we all get the best out of YOUR radio station, please feel free to let us have any information or news that you have. We can then spread the word to the rest of the community.
